18 days ago I reviewed the first “Knockin´ At Heaven´s Gate – Live In Tokyo 2023” DVD on his blog (“The Heavy Metal Throne Now Belongs To Lovebites”). Now I have had the pleasure of having experienced the second DVD, Part II. These shows were recorded at the Ex Theater Roppongi in Tokyo on March 11 & 12 (Part II) 2023. Tracks only released on Part II include “Golden Destination”, “Empty Daydream”, “Piano Solo (Etude Op.10, No.12)”, “Swan Song” and “Under The Red Sky”. As a bonus you get versions of different songs as the camera focuses on individual members. All in all, a very good live record of a band in full flight, happy to be exactly where they are. I have noticed that earlier live DVDs are hard to get, I hope these two survive on the marketplace for many years to come. If anything, it would be nice if they were released in the West as well. Lovebites are the Queens of Heavy Metal, remember that. They should be treated as royalty.
