Babymetal Records

Posted: November 29, 2018 in Babymetal, Classic Rock, Cool stuff, General

Got the Babymetal Limited Edition “Distortion” (studio/live) Single (red Vinyl in LP format) delivered this week. First to feature the Babymetal Records label, which looks great. Makes me think of Purple Records, having your own label is cool on a level all of its own.

Respect.

(My image of said record)

Having a lot of fun in my new place decorating little corners like it is one big Man Cave. Which it is. This shelf is dedicated to music (magazines, DVDs) and I decided to add a bit of Purple nostalgia as eye candy. What you see is Didi Zill´s Deep Purple book, a copy of “Stormbringer” signed by Jon Lord, Ian Paice, Glenn Hughes and David Coverdale (see earlier post), the gatefold sleeve of “Made In Europe” and some additional stuff that looks cool.

Got to rock´n´roll!

Men in sheds

Got to love James May. His new book looks like a winner to me, “James May´s Magnificent Machines – How Men In Sheds Have Changed Our Lives” (Hodder Stoughton, 2018). And we all know that men in sheds are the backbone of our civilization.

Excellent Christmas gift.

Stan Lee is gone

The legendary comic book creator Stan Lee has passed away at 95. I grew up with many of his creations and he lived long enough to witness his iconic super heroes conquer the cinemas as well, which must have felt good for him (well deserved, and I always enjoyed seeing his little cameos).

I take my hat off for Stan.

Saving space

Took these shots in the early hours this morning in my new place. I have undertaken a project that will save a lot of space as far as my DVD collection is concerned. A good chunk of it will from now on be handled like this (I think these images speaks for themselves). I just organize it all in categories like Western (as seen here), WWII (Classic & Modern), Comedy, Sci-Fi etc etc. I have done about 35% of the collection at this point and I will leave about 10% as it is in the original boxes. At the end of the day it will be a good solution and I quite like browsing the covers in this way.

Clockwork Immortality

Japanese all female Metal outfit Lovebites have a new album called “Clockwork Immortality” coming out on December 7. They have spent quite some time in Europe (tour ongoing, dates for 2019 coming up) and they did win the Metal Hammer Golden Awards “Best New Band” category back in June. Good to see them doing well. Very nice album cover too.
