The new Babymetal/Electric Callboy collaboration “Ratatata” is a bit of a runaway train. Over 900,000 views on YouTube in the first 24 hours. It will obviously cross the 1,000,000 mark on day two. I think this one may have legs. I have to admit that it is a bit of a barnstormer. Crazy fun. Trust Babymetal to be at the centre of a track like this. Some metalheads might think that this is way too poppy, or commercial. But if you reach the mainstream, as they clearly will in this case, it means that more people will be drawn in. And some of them will be metalheads before you know it. It is all good. Not too many could get away with this. I bet there is a long line of artists that would love to work with Babymetal. It will not be long now before they are headliners on all the big festivals. What a journey!
