Swedish band Roxette has sold over 100,000,000 records. Next year, founder member Per Gessle will take the music of Roxette on the road under the name Roxette In Concert. Swedish singer Lena Philipsson will handle the vocals (and she is quite wonderful, so it will be good). Says Gessle in a press statement, “Marie Fredriksson will always be irreplacable and I am not interested in forming a new duo. But I was wondering how I could present the song treasure of Roxette. Inviting Lena was very tempting. She is a magnificent singer and she has a great stage precence. I am both proud and happy that she has accepted to participate in this adventure” (End quote, translated from Swedish media). Looking back on Roxette now, they really had some amazing songs. Nothing wrong with a bit of nostalgia.
