I did not see this coming. News broke today that Michael Schenker will release an album called “My Years With UFO – 50th Anniversary Celebration” (probably late September). Guests include Roger Glover, Joe Lynn Turner, Slash, Joel Hoekstra, Biff Byford, Axl Rose, Joey Tempest, Carmine Appice, John Norum, Erik Grönwall, Kai Hansen, Adrian Vandenberg, Stephen Pearcy, Jeff Scott Soto and Michael Voss. I know that John Norum and Joey Tempest are huge fans of UFO, so this must be pretty awesome for them. But who did not like UFO back in those days? Hell, most of the catalogue is good. But there is no denying that the 1972-1978 era of the band was pretty outstanding. As was some of the 1990s reunion albums with Schenker (not covered here it seems). 11 songs, and I have to say that the cover is absolutely brilliant! Shades of “Strangers In The Night”.
