I called it. Babymetal has just put out a video, shot at the PIA Arena shows in Yokohama a week ago. The chosen song is “Mirror Mirror” from the new album “The Other One”. Audio is from the album, the visuals from the live shows. And the good news is that this is the best looking video that Babymetal has ever put up, it looks absolutely incredible. I mean, they operate on a level that others can only aspire to. Trust me when I say that a lot of artists are looking at what they do with awe and perhaps with a bit of envy. I noticed years ago that they used drones for a lot of the live shots (might have been the Tokyo Dome 2016 gig, not sure), this week there was a tweet that said that one of these drone pilots is a Japanese representative for world drone racing championships. Of course. Only the best of the best for Team Babymetal. Also, “The Other One” has entered a respectable position (at number eight) on the Billboard World Albums Chart. I think that this album, with all the existing videos and the shows to come, will help Babymetal to move forward to the next level. They totally deserve to be one of the great acts of this generation.
