Archive for December, 2018

Managed to secure a copy of the ultra rare Babymetal (Fan Club/The One) six Blu-ray box “The Fox Festivals In Japan 2017” on eBay. Six shows in all. I had a lot to do this weekend so I have only seen the first concert as yet, but man was it great! Spectacular show. Five to go.

I guess Christmas came early this year.

Sorted out the CD collection in my new man cave this weekend and found this CD, signed by Glenn Hughes back in the day. I figured I would show it on the blog since I mentioned this very album yesterday here (and that it has just seen re-issue on Vinyl).

Great album. Great memories.

Winter

Took this snapshot yesterday on my way to my new place in Stugun (Jämtland). There is something special about this season, even though it is sometimes cold and daylight will last only a few hours for sure. Some people like the sunny places in other countries – I would never swop what we have here in million years though. It may be a bit on the rough side, but it is beautiful.

1994

If you enjoy the music of Glenn Hughes it seems that most of his back catalogue now exists on Vinyl. His 1994 effort “Burning Japan Live” was released a few weeks ago as a Double Vinyl in a Gatefold Sleeve. This was when he worked with musicians from Sweden, including some guys from Europe. I used to meet him quite regularly back then, and some of these chats are on this blog. I guess I could add some more of the classic stuff in due time.

Just a quick note to point out that the Sabbath rant I mentioned on December 7 is going to reach 100,000 views today. Meaning it is really moving faster than most videos that are put out there by Classic Rock bands now. Congratulations to the Rageaholic for this success.

The Good Things festivals in Australia this weekend turned out to be a huge success and Babymetal was the band that everybody wanted to see. The band performed on the big stage in Brisbane yesterday and photographer Stephen Goodwin got some amazing shots and declared that it was even better than Wembley 2016. Now that is one hell of a statement, but his pictures do prove that the girls (including Saya, the new gal on this tour) had a great time up there. In scorching heat mind you. The Babymetal merchandise sold out very quickly and the press I have seen pretty much adored them and dubbed them the best act of the tour. This was the first trip to Australia (exept for studio work) and by the looks of it they will be able to go back and fill decent sized venues next time around. In the meantime, we have to wait for final word on the line-up. If this was a final audition of sorts for Saya, she did go down well and fans are warming to her fast. One could say that Babymetal ended 2018 with a bang and that is a good thing.

(Thank you Stephen Goodwin for letting people use your shots!)

Good days

This is good news. Georges Simenon´s Maigret books are republished in Sweden by Atlantis. Took me a couple of years to get on the case but this stuff goes straight into the old collection.
