Made In Japan

Tonight I enjoyed the Deep Purple “Made In Japan” documentary DVD, and it is nice to go back to the early days every now and then. I discovered Deep Purple in 1971 as a 10 year old kid but for the first nine years I only worshipped the Purple Family from afar, buying the records and the magazines. In 1980 I saw the first couple of Rainbow gigs followed by Whitesnake in 1981, Gillan in 1982, Black Sabbath (with Ian Gillan) in 1983 and the reunited Purple in 1985. Countless adventures followed, so many great memories. And not only with the Purple Family. But it all started with the second Purple lineup and the musical journey has never stopped.

What a wonderful band it was. And still is.
