Watched the 1983 movie “The Scarlet And The Black” with Gregory Peck and Christopher Plummer on DVD tonight. Based on a true story that occured in Rome during WW II, Peck portrays an Irish priest (Hugh O´Flaherty) working for the Vatican that takes it upon himself to save as many people as possible from the Nazis. Plummer is the head of the SS (Herbert Kappler) and he knows very well what is going on. It quickly becomes a struggle with very high stakes. This is an old school kind of a movie and the acting is second to none.
