Babymetal rising – the early DVDs

Today I will take a look at a couple of early Babymetal DVDs that has only been released in Japan so far, “Live Legend I, D, Z Apocalypse” and “Live Legend 1999 & 1997 Apocalypse”. The first was originally released on DVD in a Limited Edition of 1,500 copies on October 19 2013, with a Blu-ray version hitting the shops at November 20 later on (entering a very respectful # 7 at the charts). This DVD consists of three concerts filmed in Tokyo as headliner (no opening act) – October 6 2012 at Shibuya O-East, December 20 2012 at Akazaka Blitz and January 2 2013 at Zepp Tokyo. The second DVD appeared on October 29 2014 and by now they had already performed at the Budokan and released their first album (although these shows were filmed prior to that). Two concerts – June 30 2013 at the NHK Hall in Tokyo and December 21 2013 at Makuhari Messe Event Hall (9,000 theater). This DVD entered at # 4 in the charts! It is interesting that these DVD packages were released in 2013 and 2014, soon to be followed by the Budokan shows in 2015. What we have here is a band that has captured pretty much everything on film and released quite a lot to the public. I have to say that this is all quite impressive. I will also say that it would be nice for the fans outside of Japan if the first DVDs were issued on the international market.
