Every now and then, I want to read a Clifton album. Created back in 1960 by Raymond Macherot, Clifton was the archetypical British hero. A former WWII fighter pilot and MI6 agent, he is now solving mysteries on his own. He lives in Puddington outside of London with a cat and a maid (Mrs Parthridge). In 1993, the character saved the life of Royalty and was rewarded with a Knighthood. Raymond Macherot handed over Clifton years ago and this album (the 7th) from UK publisher Cinebook has been created by Bob De Groot and Michel Rodrigue. “Elementary, my dear Clifton” was published in 2014.
